As a rule meetings occur on the 3rd Sunday of each month at 4pm in The Rose & Crown Public House, located North Bar Without, Beverley.
However it's probably a good idea to keep an eye on the mailing list if you want to know what is going on as meetings don't always occur...
For those who can't make the meetings in person join the IRC channel and hopefully WiFi connections willing and laptop batteries charged you will be able to chat to us in the pub via the IRC channel.
The mailing list is the standard e-mail based system, visit Mailman to get going. But don't expect any high volume messaging, we're all too laid back for that.
"What is a LUG anyway?" I hear you cry! Well, it's a motley and (generally) un-organised group of people who use Linux, normally in their day to day life. Unusually for people who care enough about computers to talk to other people about them, we meet face to face, O.K. so it is in a pub, but what you going to do about it? Most meetings Beer is consumed, Linux, OSX and other operating systems will come up in conversation, along with anything else which is topical and worth a chin wag, and occasionally a laptop is produced and poked by at least one person. Oh, and disks with software on are often shared, as are recommendations and advice about good GPL software. All in all it's a good, non-serious, opportunity to have a chat about interesting things.
Yes you do have to buy your own beer, but no it doesn't cost to come along, other than a smile, if that costs anything these days.
For those in the know point there favourite client to irc.lug.org.uk and join #BevLUG if your new to IRC then just use the web based client by clicking "Chat!" below, you may what to change the default Nickname first..
